My Birthday Celebration Continues

My Birthday celebration continues. Today I had a free birthday meal at a restaurant with Jen and free coffee at two coffee shops. I love birthdays!

Now I'm home waiting for the trick-or-treaters. Max is all decked out with his Halloween neck scarf.  He's wants to do the greeting.... or eating, one of the two.  (He's already tried to get at the forbidden candy.)

Halloween @ KHS

We had fun at school today.  We all dressed up for Halloween.  The kitchen was lit up with jack-o-lanterns and orange lights.

The kids were all dressed up too.

At lunch, the gals gave me a cake and a gift especially picked out for me....a bag of old broken electronics.  (Gee, thanks guys!)

Birthday Cakes

I got two birthday cakes today! There was one from my fellow school bus drivers:

And there was one from my fellow school cooks:

Actually, I even got a complimentary piece of cheese cake at the restaurant that Dave and I ate at.  (Does that count as the third cake?)

Who is going to roll me to work on Monday?

Lunch with Jamie

Jamie and I were going to have lunch at Subway in the brand new Walmart. But even though the store opened today, Subway wasn't open for lunch yet.

It's a beautiful, updated store.  (Compared to other Walmarts that I've seen.) Except I was surprised to see no self service check outs.  One of the employees told me that there were too many dishonest people to have self service.  Hm-m-m? I expected it to be the wave of the future. Oh well..

Jamie and I ended up having a nice lunch at the new Mexican Village. It was good to sit down and talk.  Jamie has been so busy lately.  There was a lot of catching up to do.

This is my next phone!

at the Women's Showcase.
Kind of fun!

Women's Showcase @ the Fargo Dome

Georgia and I have been going to the Women's Showcase every fall for the past three years. This year Jodi, Savanna and my mom came with. We had a good time. Savanna and I had a contest to see who could collect the most pens. Savanna won. (Just wait until next year, Savanna!)

El Zagal Style Show

My mom and I go to El Zagal's style show each fall. This year my dad's cousin, Dula, came with us. We had a good time.

I decided that I need to buy myself some boots. I also need to buy myself something purple..... apparently it's the color of the year.

Book Club

Our book club met at new coffee shop called the Daily Grind. This time we didn't discuss any particular book, but instead talked about many books. We put together a tentative list of the books that we plan to read over the next few months.

It was good to see everyone again. I don't have much spare time, so I rarely read books (I prefer tech magazines), but I will read the assigned book every month to stay in book club. If it weren't for book club, I'd never see many these gals. You know how it is.... you need a reason.

Sue's Birthday

We had fun today. It was Sue's birthday. Sue collects containers..... any container. Pickle pails, sour cream containers, peanut butter containers, etc. It drives Jodi nuts. Jodi is always teasing Sue about it and won't let her take any more containers home. Today for Sue's birthday, we all brought Sue a container from home. ha ha It was a good joke. We all had a good laugh....especially Sue.

Drunken Noodle

My mom and I go out to eat every Saturday that I don't have to work. We are always trying new restaurants. Today we ate at the Dunken Noodle. We enjoyed the food.... and the time spent together.

September Happenings

Summer is busy but I think that the school year is even busier. September was busy!

I went to Rollag with my cousins.

I went to an ESP conference in Minot with a couple of my co-workers.

Jen found a new apartment.

Jason had a successful hunt in Colorado. (Yes, tht is snow that you see.)

Dave and I went to Catlin's wedding. (Wasn't it just last week that I was babysitting her?)

We had Bunco at Marilyn's house.
And I closed up my part of the lake cabin.

End of Summer
Now on to October....

Beach Party

Tonight one of our neighbors at the lake had a beach party. Once a year our neighbor Lucy, invites everyone on Little Pelican Lake over for a potluck. It's always fun to meet the people who live in the cottages around our little lake.

I went to the party with my mom and brother. We sat with some interesting people. I had a lot in common with a gal, her husband, and the guy sitting across from us. We all have been studying the same Bible studies! What neat surprise...... so much in common! We listen to the same Christian radio stations. We've been reading the same books. We all love Dr David Jeremiah, Chuck Swindoll and Beth Moore. I felt so energized. It was fun.

Medora

Last year we had so much fun at Medora that we did it again this summer. We spent the weekend in Medora with a couple friends of ours, Craig and Polly Roe.

Friday night we spent a rainy night in Belfield in the Roe's camper.

We spent Saturday and Sunday - camping, shopping, driving around the National Park, and touring the Chateau de Mores at Medora. We also went to the musical. It was a fun weekend!

Kindred Days

It's been a very busy weekend in Kindred! Parades. Entertainment. Food. Games. Fireworks. Petting zoo. Flea market. Street Dance. People. People. People.

Jamie, Ryan and Sierra came out and spent the night. I think everyone had a good time. I know I did.

Here's a video taken before the Cowboy Action Wild West show:
