Thanksgiving 2008

This Thanksgiving was fun for me. Everyone came and brought food and wine. Jamie baked her famous apple pie. Jen made her favorite, strawberry cheesecake, and Dave cooked the turkey nad the garlic mashed potatoes using some new ideas he got from watching the Food Network. Mom brought a couple salads, Illa brought a new appetizer, that we all want the recipe for. Ron forgot his pumpkin pie, but redeemed himself with his green bean casserole. I filled out the menu with spiced apple sauce, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, etc.

After cleanup, we played games. "Scene-It" was going on in the living room and the dining room table was full of people playing "Rap" or "Knock". (An old family game that we used to play when ever the Grovers got together.) It was a loud Thanksgiving.

After the games, we had desert and then took some pictures before everyone went home. Check out our picutres at: CLICK HERE I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

Holiday Tour of Homes

Kindred Public Library had their annual Holiday Tour of Homes. CLICK HERE to see some pictures of the homes. Mom came out and we toured the houses all afternoon. It was fun to see how everyone decorated their homes. It put me in the Christmas spirit to go home and decorate.

Freak

I just saw the Kindred High School Drama "Freak". Do you remember the Drama group that I wrote about last year? The group that won state? Well this is the same group. I think they'll do it again this year.

The play has a good message and a good cast. I think you should go see it. It plays again tomorrow and also November 21st.

Book Club

Our book club got together at Dunn Brother's Coffee Shop and reviewed a couple books. We do this once a month. We try to find a new coffee shop each time...but if we can't find a new shop, we meet at Dunn Brothers. It's our favorite.

Our group is mainly made up of Kindred folks and former Kindred folks. We have our own (outdated) website: www.mybookclub.info

New Do

I always take pictures of my hair in the car after I leave the salon so that I can remember what it looked like. It doesn't seem to matter how hard I try...I can never make it look the way the beautician does. (Sometimes I don't want it to....ha ha)

Dula's 80th Birthday

Dula Bishop, my dad's cousin, turned 80. Her daughters held an open house for her. It was fun. I was able to connect with cousins that I don't see very often. They had a power point of old pictures. Wow. They were interesting. Here are some pictures that I took at the open house:
